Auto capture form submissions

Auto capture records submissions of forms on your own pages as conversions for a widget. You add rules that match the page URL, submit a test, and the form's fields become variables you can show in a recent signups popup or count in a sales counter.

Steps

  1. Open the widget data settings. In a recent sales popup or sales counter, find Auto capture data.
  2. Add a rule. Choose how to match the page where the form lives: exact URL, contains, starts with or ends with, and enter the value.
  3. Save and submit a test. Submit the form on your site once.
  4. Check the Data tab. The submission appears as a conversion with the form field names.
  5. Use the field names as variables. For example {first_name} or {city}, matching your form's input names.

Questions about this guide

What does auto capture do?

It records submissions of forms on the pages you match as conversions for the widget, so a signup or booking form can feed a recent signups popup without a webhook.

Which pages does it watch?

Pages that match your rules: exact URL, contains, starts with or ends with.

Which field names do I get?

The input names your form uses. Check the Data tab after a test submission.

Does it capture passwords or card numbers?

Do not point it at login or payment forms. Only use it on forms whose fields you are allowed to show, and show the minimum.

Does it work with forms inside iframes?

No. Embedded forms in iframes (many third-party form builders) are separate documents the pixel cannot see. Use their webhooks instead.

Does it work with AJAX forms?

It works with forms the browser submits on your page. Some JavaScript-only forms may not trigger it; test, and fall back to a webhook.

Is consent needed?

Tell visitors how their submission is used in your privacy policy, and only display what they would expect, such as a first name and city.

Can I combine auto capture and webhooks?

Yes. Both feed the same Data tab.
