Data capture
Social proof webhook so every popup is backed by a real event
AutoSocialProof gets its data four ways: a webhook URL on every data widget (JSON or form fields), auto capture of form submissions on your own pages, collector widgets used as data sources, and import. Every field you send becomes a variable in the popup text.
curl -X POST "https://app.autosocialproof.com/pixel-webhook/YOUR_WIDGET_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name":"Jamie","city":"Denver","product":"Cedar & Smoke candle"}'Webhook
Each widget has a URL. POST JSON or form fields from your store, CRM or automation tool.
Auto capture
Add rules and the pixel captures matching form submissions on your pages as conversions.
Collector data sources
Pick email, callback or countdown collectors in the same campaign as sources for popups and counters.
Import
Add data you already have from the Data tab.
How do you send conversions by webhook?
Four steps, about fifteen minutes including a test.
Copy the widget webhook URL
Open your recent sales popup (or counter, or reviews) and copy the webhook URL from its data settings. Each widget has its own key.
Copied.
Send a POST for each event
From your store, form tool or automation platform, POST form fields or JSON. Every field you send becomes a {variable}: {name}, {product}, {plan}. The fields city, country and country_code fill the location.
Sent a test order.
Use the variables in your text
Write the title as "{name} from {city}" and the line as "just bought {product}". Missing fields become empty, so test with real payloads.
It reads naturally.
Check the Data tab
Every conversion is listed with its fields, page and date. You can also import past data there.
All there.
What do variables look like?
Curly braces around any field name you send.
{name} from {city}
just bought {product}
becomes "Jamie from Denver just bought Cedar & Smoke candle".
Data capture questions
What is a social proof webhook?
A social proof webhook is a URL that accepts a POST request for each new order, signup or review, so the social proof widget can show it. In AutoSocialProof every data-driven widget has its own webhook URL; JSON and form-encoded bodies both work.
Which fields can I send?
Any. Each field becomes a variable you can use in the widget text, such as {name} or {product}. The fields city, country and country_code are treated as location. Reviews need title, description and stars (1-5).
Does it work with Zapier, Make or n8n?
Yes. Use the "webhook" or "HTTP request" step in any automation tool to POST the trigger data to the widget URL. No special integration is needed.
What is auto capture?
Auto capture lets the pixel record submissions of forms on your own pages as conversions, using rules you add to the widget, so a signup form can feed a recent signups popup without any webhook.
Can I import old orders?
Yes. The widget's Data tab has an import option for data you already have, so a new widget does not start empty.
Is personal data stored?
Only what you send or capture. Send the minimum you want to display; first name and city are usually enough. Data is retained according to your plan and can be deleted.
Is there an API?
Yes. Every plan includes API access with your account API key; see the API documentation in the app.
Can I test without a real order?
Send a test POST with curl or your automation tool, then check the Data tab. Delete test rows before going live.
No question matches that. Try another word, or ask us directly.
